We are just getting ready to leave the beautiful island of Bequia.
It has been great to be anchored off the beach, for me, and the humans have had the pretty town to explore.
The cruising season is over, so everything is a little ‘too quiet’.
You can get most things in town and there are a few chandleries to have a nose in. But the humans often find themselves one of few tourists walking about.
It is great to have the beach and anchorage almost to ourselves, but the place lacks any ‘vive’ as a result. Not a big problem for my ‘boring’ humans.
We feel sorry for the venders and taxi drivers, as there is very little work for them now.
The humans have decided to stock up on a few supplies and head a little further south.
With a few punctures on the dingy to sort out, they have found you can tote almost anything on a kayak.
They humans plan on setting sail tomorrow due south for the unspoilt retreat of Canouan island. All the islands between Saint Vincent and Grenada are tiny, but meant to be beautiful. We have enjoyed our visit to Bequia, but are looking forward to seeing a few more of the tiny islands and exploring their reefs.
We will miss out on the private, and exclusive playground of the rich and famous, island of Mustique along the way. We understand that you are restricted to anchoring in only one bay and must pay $200 ec for each 3 nights stay. As it is ‘off season’ we do not think their will be any celebrities to watch out for, and as we are not big restaurant ‘goers’ we think the next island Canouan will suit us better.
We will aim for a quiet bay on the north end of the island that is supposed to be good diving and snorkeling. As the male human is fully recovered, they can start diving now.
Sorry that there has not been any ‘SUNDOWNERS’ lately. The increase in cloud cover, this time of year, has meant the sun has disappeared early into the clouds of the horizon. But here is an ‘almost’ sunset, for those that need an excuse to have a drink.
