To escape the bugs near Crab Cay we motored round to the North side of Manjack Cay.
This anchorage is horribly exposed to the Atlantic swell in all but the most settled weather. But with ‘no wind’ for weeks the ocean was a sleeping lion. The perfect time to visit this picture perfect cove surrounded by white sandy beaches.
All this travelling and snorkelling has left a lot of boat jobs ‘undone’ or ‘tabled’ until we get to the US, but sometimes they can not be ignored any more. Our swimming ladder had broken again. As we rarely drop the dingy out of the davits on the stern, the stainless ladder here is rarely used. Instead we hook onto the side a removable folding aluminium and plastic job. Without it getting in and out of the water is not easy.
So we all had a day of repairs, research on the crossing to the US and Jake and Sarah, from S/V Prospero, came over with some fresh conch. So we made cracked conch for lunch.
Before long it was Sundowner time and we all headed to the beach.
Wish you were here.
