SAILING AROUND THE WORLD WITH SPIRIT OF ARGO

Bahamas, Great Exuma Island, George Town – Birthday Boy

Our anchorage, across the harbour from George Town, at Sand Dollar Beach on Stocking Island offered us some good protection from the strong winds that passed through the Bahamas.

I prefer when the humans anchor on this side of the harbour because it affords me easy access to all the hikes and beaches on the island.

But it does mean that if the humans want to go to town they need to either move the ‘big’ boat and anchor on the ‘Town’ side of the harbour or they have to take a short dingy ride across.  In strong winds, that dingy ride is going to be wet and bumpy.  They were up for some fun and took the wet option.

If you have read the earlier blog on the town, you will know it was a quick tour and it is just like the boys to end up at the Exuma Yacht Club for a beer.

Roy proudly wore his environmentally sound, entirely recycled flotsam finds.

It was my job to drag him all over Stocking island in the morning so the humans could decorate the boat and bake him some cake as a surprise!  They found all the ingredients, not so easy in the Bahamas, to cook him up a proper British ‘Fat Boys’ breakfast.

To wear it off Roy fancied a game of Volleyball on the famous Chat and Chill Beach.

Roy was straight in there making new friends and joining the game.  And he was very good at it!

He was invited back to join in the game the next day.

The humans finished off the day with Mahi Mahi (left overs from the Staniel Cay catch) green Thai curry and another birthday cake.

We hope we distracted Roy from missing his family and friends back home on his Birthday.
