Belize, Northeast Sapodilla Cay – The last of the undeveloped cays

I have to admit our copy of the ‘Raucher’ cruising guide for Belize is out of date (2004), but the humans did pick up an electronic copy that is the most recent addition to back it up. The charts and positions have not changed, but the new addition has way points while the old one only give bearings. On the back cover, both the old and new addition, there is a picture postcard photo of a palm fringed cay with a lovely sandy beach. The caption below reads ‘Belize’s long barrier reef has scores of deserted isles like this – all palm trees and sand.’

Well things have changed here in Belize. You will not find deserted isles any more.
