My human is on the mend and feeling strong enough for a short sail to the Bay Islands off Honduras for a little sand and sea to help with his recuperation.
Most of our fellow cruisers have gotten out of the river ahead of us, but there are a few mates joining us in the ‘weather window’ for getting east against the predominate winds.
It is always fun to split the run down river in half and the anchorage at Texan Bay is a natural delight.
There is a bar at the mouth of the river that we need to wait for high tide to get over, and then we will spend the night anchored off Tres Punta.
All the weather predicting sights seem to indicate we will have fair winds on Sunday for a smooth over night passage. Keep your fingers crossed.
We will not have internet once we leave Livingston, the ‘check out’ town at the mouth of the Rio Dulce. So we will fill you guys all in when we get there and find an internet café.
See you soon.

Hooray! I know you’ve been itching to get moving, but you’ll miss some of the good friends you’ve made in Rio Dulce. Enjoy the journey down the river and have a safe sail to the Bay Islands. The reefs are beautiful, so enjoy the snorkeling and diving. If you go to Roatan – tell Cain – Anthony’s chicken is safe and good. $5 USD for a full plate of chicken and veg. The $1 taco night at Sundowners….maybe not so much. xxx
Dear Kim,
Was the $1 taco night the one that tried to ‘bring you down’?
If so I will definitely make the humans avoid that.
Thanks for the well wishes.

If you get get to Roatan, at Anthony’s Key Dive Resort, ask for Mandy Wagner. You met her brother, Herb, at Ortega Landing when he visited us. Herb and I have been friends for 30+ years. She has managed the resort for a long time and will welcome mutual friends, I am certain.
So glad the tall human is much better!
Dear Cathy,
Thanks for the heads up on the connection. It will help as we may be here a while executing some repairs to the anchor roller. We got caught by a rouge wave just at the anchor was releasing that throw the bow off and twisted the whole thing almost off. I will write more on this. We sailed straight to Roatan to pick up a mooring ball. Will arrange a welder and get it off next. I pity the human that had to lift the anchor up with out a bow roller! More later.

Good luck guys,,xx
Dear Tony,
Thanks for the well wishes, but you did not keep your fingers crossed for us.
We had a little bad luck, but the humans and I are fine. As usual the boat put up with the humans mishaps and got us all safely to port. A good nights rest and the humans and I are better. The boat, on the other hand, needs a little ‘TLC’ to make her right again. More later.

Dear Cain, April & Quinn
We are so pleased that you are finally leaving Guatemala for the beaches of Honduras. We really hope Cain feels better there. We hope that one day it will be the English Conroy clan that are on the blog photos with you! We miss you so much, well done for some great updates Quinny Quinnster!!
Lots of love

Dear Lisa,
I am very much looking forward to having the Conroy clan aboard. My humans are so boring compared to the kids. I just love mayhem aboard! Keep buying those lottery tickets, you just never know.

Yes Quinn. The $1 taco was the suspect food that lowered my spirits. The suggestions I made were for the ‘West End’. Breakfast & lunch at Aryahungry in front of Chillies is also excellent and great value. Cheapest (and greatest variety) of grocery shopping will be Coxen Hole. There is a great fruit/veg stand at the traffic circle in the west end.
Enjoy being under sail again after a long wait at the marina.
Love your freeloading family xxxx
Dear Kim and Andy,
Thanks for the ‘heads up’ on some good places in Roatan. We just arrived safe and sound. We have managed to tie onto the last available mooring ball. It was sunken out of sight and would never have found it with out help. Friends Iris and Martin, on s/v Kalea, rushed out in their dingy and found it for us when they heard we had a little ‘trouble with the anchoring system’. More on that later. The important thing is we are all safe and sound, just a few sore muscles and bruises. Poor s/v Spirit of Argo needs a little ‘TLC’. We will get arrangements for that sorted over the next few days as the weather looks like it will hold until the end of the week. Got to get the humans off the computer and to work.
